Jenkin's Convergence Culture

1. Jenkin’s understanding of convergence seemed to jump around a lot. He stayed in the same niche that convergence is a way of merging all forms of media new and old into one understanding. And involved with that is a new culture surrounding convergence. Jenkin understands it as almost a new language that forces the conversation to become more innovative and progressive.

2. My understanding of convergence is old mediums forcing and driving new   

mediums to be what they are now. As well as a platform that will carry all of your media/entertainment cravings; for example, our phones can do just about anything related to communication or the new Xbox One is basically an entertainment system with gaming being only a part of the system, not the entire intent of it. I like this idea of a culture attached to it that forces new ideas and more innovative discussions to present themselves more than usual.

3. Studying media history teaches us to further improve them in order to advance our society. They give us a broad understanding of media as a whole and force new ideas to better our understanding of communication and entertainment. Culture is always changing generation to generation and technology plays a huge part in that change.
